I found a great article here on the power of encouragement older women have toward younger women. Especially when it comes to childbearing. While I have experienced some of the negativity referred to in the artice, I have, for the most part, been very encouraged in my childbearing years. Thankfully, most of our family has been supportive of our choice to have a large family.
I think we, as older women (Yes, I count myself in that camp in some areas!), have to be so careful to make sure we are encouraging younger women - just as Titus 2 says we should. We don't need to give them approval, we don't need to make any rules for them to follow, we MUST not be discouraging to them, and we MUST make sure we love them - with words as well as actions. Please read the article I linked to, and think about how you can encourage a younger woman. If you are a young woman in the place described in this article, think ahead about how you can respond in love to someone who doesn't follow the Titus 2 mandate to encourage you in your faith and family.
